In a school workshop, Grade 6 students were invited to collaborate directly with teachers to create a new interdisciplinary study, covering multiple subject areas.

The outcome was a unit in math, science, and humanities classes that resulted in the construction of a vegetable garden on campus.

Today we’re joined by Grade 6 student Mia and Grade 6 Math and Science Teacher Mr. Greg Brown who were among the group leading the creation of the unit. They explain how this project came into existence the help they received from a local village, and plans for the sustainability of the garden in the future.
